Hello, my name is Chris Callor.  I have the education and experience you deserve.

As Affordable Energy Improvements, we have been providing energy efficiency improvements since 2005.  We are not salesman, we do not sell or install windows or air conditioners.  Our work is much less glamorous than that.  We work in dark and dirty crawl spaces while performing simple repairs to home components.  We understand how a home operates.  Our mission is to educate you on a few basic principles, provide you with superior efficiency improvement services and increase your homes comfort, healthfullness and durability.

Your home is a lot like your Car.  How many MPG does your home get?

Size Matters- Like Cars, the bigger a home is, the more the more energy it uses. 

Technique matters- Do you leave your car air conditioner engine running while your at work?  Heating or cooling your home while you are away makes no sense.      

Exhaust Matters- Furnaces and water heaters produce carbon monoxide.  If these appliances are in your utility closet, it may be like sucking on your tail pipe.  

Air Infiltration Matters-Do you drive with your windows down in the winter?  Hidden holes in the crawl space and attic create unwanted ventilation and waste energy.

Duct Leakage Matters- Duct work is like a straw. Cracked straws don't work.  The same is true with duct work.  Duct work is a large straw with cracks at every seam and joint.  These cracks leak valuable energized air... and lots of it.  We fix those leaks. 

Shade Matters- If you want to keep your car cool, park it in the shade.  Your air conditioner should be in the shade, your windows should be shaded, your roof should be shaded.  We offer advice and options on how to best utilize shade.

The fact is that there are several ways to help a home use less energy.  Our work is  not glamorous.  We Right the Wrongs found in dark and dirty crawl spaces or hot and itchy attics.  We repair and seal duct work, we seal penetrations in attics and foundations, we wrap insulation around water heaters and furnaces, we can replace light bulbs and advise or implement simple solutions.

By reducing the amount of energy your home wastes, we allow you to maintain the same standard of living while buying less from the utility companies.  These simple improvements can pay for them selves in as little as 2 years.  More importantly, they improve the comfort, safety and healthfullness of your home.
